Meet Our Pastor

Dr. Jim Tedder and his wife Barbra were two of the founding members of Victory Baptist Church when it was established in 1960 under the leadership of Bro. Richard Heatherly.  Six months after its inception Bro. Heatherly felt lead to minister in another area and the church called     Bro. Tedder to be its new pastor.  Bro. Jim says that he intended to  "Fill-in" until another pastor could be found.  He remarks that he had only thirteen sermons; he planned to preach all thirteen sermons and then hoped that by that time another pastor would be found.  Victory quickly made it clear that they wanted no other pastor but him.  Now these forty six years we have had no other pastor but our beloved Bro. Jim.  He has pastored Victory from a Sunday attendance of twelve to its average attendance of four hundred and fifty people.  Victory has multiple ministries of which Victory Baptist Academy (Now enrolling over 116 students) and "The Voice of Victory" (A daily radio program that reaches three states) are two.  Victory supports over one hundred missionaries and has seen multitudes brought to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ through its many soul-winning outreaches.   Mrs. Barbra Tedder has unselfishly given herself and her family to the ministry of our church.  She has not only remained faithful to her husband but also to her Kindergarten class at Victory Baptist Academy.  She personifies a meek and quiet spirit and she has shown herself a worthy example to follow for the ladies of Victory.      We love our pastor because he has proven that he loves us.  Steadfast, Faithful, Truthful and Loving are character traits we see in our pastor.   He preaches the truth from God's Word (KJV 1611) without apology.  He preaches this truth in love (Ephesians 4:15).  Mrs. "B" as we lovingly refer to Mrs. Barbra is a lady among ladies and we love her dearly.

    God has been good to Victory by giving us a godly pastor and pastor's wife.  We have had the best of leadership and love from Bro. Jim and Mrs. Barbra. We invite you to get to meet them because we know if you meet them you will love them as we do.
